Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, and Dr. Ana Slavec from InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, participated at the conference INOVACIJE in pika, held on 11 November 2025, at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies.

The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, Rector of the University of Primorska, followed by an introductory speech by Prof. Dr. Simona Kustec, Head of the Center for Knowledge Development and Transfer.

The main part of the program featured presentations of innovative projects in the fields of smart industry, circular economy, visual sciences, tourism, education, cultural heritage, forestry and wood sector.

Dr. Andreja Kutnar presented the first Slovenian production line for cross-laminated timber (CLT). Meanwhile, Dr. Ana Slavec presented the research project Perceiving climate change as an opportunity and a threat in the innovation activities of Austrian and Slovenian companies in the forest-based sector.

Dr. Andreja Kutnar also took part in the concluding discussion titled “What we learned from this year’s evet INOVACIJE in pika: insights and reflections.”

The conference brought together researchers, professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and other stakeholders from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria and Estonia, with a special focus on social innovation, sustainability, digital transformation and interdisciplinary approaches. After the official program participants had the opportunity to visit the exhibition of innovative projects.

The conference was organized by University of Primorska.
