Dr. Matthew Schwarzkopf, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, hosted Dr. Hüseyin Sivrikaya, who is working in the Department of Forest Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Forestry of Bartın University in Turkey.

He gave a lecture on developments in wood protection at the InnoRenew CoE premisses and online.

His research focuses on wood biodeterioration and protection, with a particular emphasis on wood modification, as well as bio-based and sustainable materials. Dr. Sivrikaya is visiting Slovenia as part of a bilateral project led by Dr. Laetitia Marrot from FRISSBE, ZAG – Zavod za gradbeništvo Slovenije.
