Asistant with Doctorate

Jakub Grzybek is an Asistant with Doctorate at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM.

He obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Forest Products Technology and Timber Constructions (BSc) and Forest Products Technology and Management (MSc) from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Austria. After graduating, he worked at the university as a researcher, contributing to various national and international projects. During this time, he also began collaborating with Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic, where he pursued his PhD in Wood Material Engineering.

His research focuses on the development of bio-based materials for use in building sector. As part of his doctoral studies, he developed wood-based composite materials incorporating phase change materials, aimed at enhancing the thermal mass of buildings and reducing energy consumption.

In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, cycling, and ski touring.
