SINTETIC project event

Partners in the SINTETIC project aim to establish and present a traceability system for trees, logs, and panels based on the latest information and communication technology. They will achieve this through a central geodatabase that covers the entire forest value chain.

Recently, InnoRenew CoE hosted a SINTETIC project event supporting stakeholders in the wood value chain in implementing the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The event, titled “Solutions for EUDR supporting stakeholders in the wood value chain” was an excellent opportunity to discuss innovative traceability of logs from the forest to the sawmill, as well as wood traceability within and beyond the sawmill.

At the event, the importance of detecting illegal logging and comprehensive information solutions for data collection along the entire wood value chain was emphasized. Additionally, data mining services that support the requirements of the EUDR were presented.
