Daša Majcen is a researcher at InnoRenew CoE. She graduated in environmental science at the University of Nova Gorica and owns a doctoral degree from the Delft University of Technology in building energy use. She undertook research and management roles in environmental science at the University of Geneva and the International Nanotechnology Institute in Portugal. She gained hands-on policy experience assisting the Slovenian Presidency to the Council of the EU in multilateral environmental agreements at Slovenia’s Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.

InnoRenew CoE strives to accelerate the use and research of renewable materials through science and innovation, and Daša’s MAXIWOOD project focuses on a crucial sustainability aspect — carbon footprint. As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action fellow, she will study carbon accounting in the forest-based industry and research how to maximize the mitigation potential of wood products in Slovenia.

Her favorite hobbies are climbing, running, hiking and enjoying family trips in her camper van.
