Eva Prelovšek Niemelã talks about Koper’s Servite monastery renovation

Eva Prelovšek Niemelã, InnoRenew CoE’s architect, spoke about the complex design process of Koper’s Servite monastery renovation on the television show “Dobro jutro”.

“We are currently carrying out maintenance work on the attic and on the roof,” she said. “The geometry of the monastery itself is very complex as it was built in different centuries and is, therefore, built as a labyrinth. This is why we used state-of-the-art 3D scanner technologies to facilitate the design process.”

InnoRenew CoE, together with the University of Primorska, the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, is preparing a new project proposal for the complete renovation of the Servite monastery. This proposal seeks to create a renovation model primarily using renewable materials, which will positively affect people’s well-being and health.
