InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researchers attended the 1st New European Bauhaus Academy Conference (NEB Academy)

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, Dr. Mike Burnard and Dr. Sonja Jantar, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researchers attended the 1st New European Bauhaus Academy Conference titled “Knowledge, Skills, and Innovation in Sustainable Construction for a Resilient Future of Europe,” held on 27 February 2026, in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM and coordinator of the NEBA Alliance presented about the NEBA Alliance as a European network of training hubs, highlighting its role in connecting stakeholders and strengthening knowledge exchange, skills development and innovation in sustainable construction.

The conference focused on how architecture and construction can address the climate crisis by linking education, sustainability and innovation. It showcased good practices in skills development for sustainable construction and explored the role of the New European Bauhaus Academy in creating more beautiful, creative, inclusive and regenerative built environments across Europe.

The event was co-hosted by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), InnovaWood and InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, as part of the UNESCO-UIA Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture programming.
