Dr. Ana Slavec, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, attended the Open Science Workshop, held on 11 March 2026, at the University of Nova Gorica, School of Environmental Sciences in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.

Dr. Slavec delivered a presentation about the Slovenian Open Science Community and its activities within the framework of the National Open Science Action Plan. She described the formation of the community and its role in implementing the National Open Science Action Plan. She also highlighted the work of the community’s expert bodies, including the Open Science Monitor, secondary publishing rights and the Slovenian Open Science Community Awards.

The workshop included presentations on open access publishing, different scientific publishing models and the role of publishers in open science, as well as a discussion on ethics and artificial intelligence in scholarly publishing.

The workshop was organised by the University of Nova Gorica and was held as a hybrid event.
