LIFE BE-WoodEN project featured in new publication by European Commission’s CINEA

InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, is a project partner in the LIFE BE-WoodEN – Buildings and Education in Wood Ecosystem for the New European Bauhaus project. Project activities at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM are led by Dr. Andreja Kutnar, department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM. The project promotes timber-based construction in residential and social housing, supporting the New European Bauhaus vision for sustainable, inclusive and beautiful living environments and is financed by the European Commission under the LIFE Programme.

A recent publication by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) highlights how LIFE projects are advancing the use of wood in construction through training, research and local supply chain development. The initiatives enable architects, engineers, construction workers and SMEs to integrate wood safely and efficiently, while demonstrating its environmental and social benefits. The LIFE BE-WoodEN project is included in the publication as an example of how wood-based construction can deliver sustainable, inclusive and affordable housing while providing professional training and resources.
