2026 International Day of Women and Girls in Science shifts the focus from recommendations and reflection to showcasing existing good practices and solutions for building more inclusive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) ecosystems with slogan “From vision to impact: Redefining STEM by closing the gender gap«.
This is why this year, to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, at UP the focus is on researchers that tickle the topic of citizen science in STEM.
Dr. Ana Slavec, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, is one of the scientists presenting citizen science practices in STEM. She spoke about her UP citizen science project Protection of Bronze Monuments in a Changing Environment, in which she explores the role of the public in monitoring and preserving cultural heritage.
