InnoRenew CoE hosted the FurnitureLCA project meeting and a workshop on LCA in the furniture and interior design industry

InnoRenew CoE hosted the FurnitureLCA project partners meeting as part of the FurnitureLCA Erasmus+ project, held on 11 February 2026. Project partners reviewed current progress, discussed ongoing tasks and upcoming activities and exchanged ideas on future collaboration and project development.

The meeting concluded with a guided tour of the InnoRenew CoE building and research laboratories, led by Dr. Črtomir Tavzes.

Additionally, InnoRenew CoE on behave of FurnitureLCA project partners, organised a workshop on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the furniture and interior design industry. The workshop began with opening remarks by Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, Rector of University of Primorska, followed by an introduction to the FurnitureLCA project by Dr. Adam Majewski, Project Coordinator at FurniTRUE. Dr. Črtomir Tavzes, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher shared insights on LCA methodology and practical examples, while Alejandra Losada (Amuebla) and Dr. Adam Majewski demonstrated the FurnitureLCA Data Collection Form. Participants also engaged in discussions on challenges and opportunities for integrating LCA into their work.

 

Attendees learned about the principles of LCA and its relevance for the furniture and interior design sector, providing opportunities to explore practical applications, share experiences with experts and identify ways to improve product sustainability.
