Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair of InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, has been elected Vice President of the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS). The election was held as part of the voting process for the 2025–2028 term, with 81 Fellows participating.

Dr. Kutnar will officially assume her role on 2nd June 2026, as the IAWS transitions to its new leadership team, which will continue to focus on advancing wood science, strengthening international collaboration and promoting innovation in the field.

The International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) is a non-profit international organization that brings together experts in wood science and related technological fields, connecting researchers from all parts of the world.
