Organizers of the 29th Biennial of Design (BIO 29) took the cover photo in the InnoRenew CoE acoustics laboratory to announce Martina Muzi as curator of this year’s biennial. The photo was taken in the anechoic room, a space specially designed to completely absorb sound, creating an exceptionally quiet environment perfect for acoustic measurements.

Besides its state-of-the-art measurement equipment, the acoustic laboratory, including an anechoic room and a reverberation room, supports research into sound properties and environments. The anechoic room, equipped with an Ambisonics loudspeaker system, allows researchers to study how different acoustic settings affect humans.
