Dr. Niki Hrovatin, researcher at InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, will lead the workshop “Java programming – the basics of programming with the Java programming language”, held online 3-10 December 2025.
The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to learn the basics of programming in Java, from fundamental programming concepts and data types to basic algorithms, problem-solving and abstraction mechanisms. No prior knowledge is required. Participants will receive access to materials, tools and documents in a repository. The training is free for micro, small and medium-sized companies as well as public organizations.
Dr. Hrovatin is an assistant professor at the department of information sciences and technologies at UP FAMNIT, where he focuses on distributed systems and sensor networks, particularly on private data processing in distributed environments, in which he has contributed five innovative research solutions. He received the Srečko Kosovel Award for his outstanding doctoral research.
The workshop is organized by University of Primorska’s Centre for Development and Knowledge Transfer. They prepared a series of free trainings aimed at strengthening digital competencies and supporting companies and organizations in their digital transformation.
