Interview with Dr. Andreja Kutnar about the bio-based innovation and regenerative sustainability in the built environment

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, acting department chair of the InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM, spoke to Wood in Architecture about bio-based innovation and regenerative sustainability in the built environment.

As Europe works to decarbonise its buildings, renewable materials such as wood are becoming central to sustainable construction. In the interview she highlighted how her work at InnoRenew CoE and with the New European Bauhaus Academy’s activities it advances timber technologies, engineered living materials, and skills training for sustainable building. She emphasized the need to move beyond reducing harm towards regenerative sustainability, as well as the importance of education and training in advancing timber construction.
