Dr. Anna Sandak, InnoRenew CoE, UP IAM researcher, spoke to the newspaper Delo about the ARCHI-SKIN project, which focuses on developing a protective coating made from fungal biofilm. In 2022, she successfully obtained a European Research Council (ERC) grant to strengthen her independent research career.

Protective coatings for buildings often contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. Unlike chemicals, fungi are safe for humans, making this project a fresh, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional construction materials.
