Lei Han at the World Conference on Timber Engineering 2025

Lei Han, InnoRenew CoE researcher, attended the World Conference on Timber Engineering 2025 (WCTE 2025), held 22-26 June 2025, in Brisbane, Australia.

This year topic was Advancing Timber for the Future Built Environment. Lei Han presented the project Innovative engineered wood products made from Thermo-hydro- mechanical densified wood with enhanced physical, mechanical and fire performance (WoDeFi). He specifically spoke about the temperature-dependent bending mechanical properties of densified wood.

Additionally, he attended the post-conference event “Fuelling the Future 2025 — a student and ECR-led fire research forum with a focus on Fire & Timber” and fire-lab tour which was held by the University of Queensland.

WCTE is the world’s premier scientific dissemination forum for presenting and discussing the latest technical and architectural developments and innovations in timber engineering and construction.
