University of Primorska organized a Study visit in the framework of the LIFE BE-WoodEN – Buildings and Education in Wood Ecosystem for the New European Bauhaus project.
The visit was held at InnoRenew CoE, and brought together 20 selected participants and 16 project partners for an in-depth exploration of timber construction and sustainability. The program started with the welcoming words of dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director and NEBAP Hub coordinator. She introduced the New European Bauhaus Academy Pioneer Hub for Sustainable Built Environments with Renewable Materials (NEBAP Hub) and presented some of its main characteristics.
The program followed with thematic sessions on timber building design, moisture control, wooden facades, and engineered wood products. Dr. Mike Burnard and dr. Jakub Sandak also toured around the InnoRenew CoE building and state-of-the-art laboratories.
On the final day, a professional excursion was organized to visit the company Stilles, which is the only CLT production facility in Slovenia.
