Dr. Ana Slavec, InnoRenew CoE researcher, was elected as the President of the Slovenian Open Science Community (SSOZ), in 15 November 2024. At the same time Dr. Sebastian Dahle, Assistant Professor at UL BF, was elected as Vice-President of the SSOZ.
The Slovenian Open Science Community is a central platform for promoting open access to scientific publications and data, connecting researchers and engaging with decision-makers in the development of open science policies. The Community is composed of a wide range of members from different disciplines who are experts in various areas of open science, ranging from open publications, open publishing, research data management, open science infrastructures, copyright law and research evaluation.
On her election, Dr. Ana Slavec stressed that one of her goals is to expand membership: “We welcome all who share our values and are interested in participating in this community. Membership is open to academic, research, development, educational and other public and private institutions, associations and infrastructures. Individuals can also become members and actively participate in working groups and other activities. Everyone is welcome to subscribe to our newsletter.”
Dr. Ana Slavec and Dr. Sebastian Dahle are the first President and Vice-President of this community.
