On Thursday, 17 October 2024, a solemn promotion of Doctors of Science of the University of Primorska took place in the hall of the Armeria Palace in Koper. The Vice-rector of the University of Primorska prof. dr. Štefko Miklavič promoted 18 new Doctors of Science, who completed their doctoral studies between March and September 2024.

Among them are also two InnoRenew CoE researchers – Dr. Kaja Kastelic and Dr. Mariem Zouari.

Dr. Kaja Kastelic defended her doctoral dissertation at the UP Faculty of Health Sciences entitled »Associations between 24-hour movement behaviours and low back pain« under the mentorship of prof. dr. Željko Pedišić and co-mentorship of izr. prof. dr. Michael David Burnard and prof. dr. Nejc Šarabon.

Dr. Mariem Zouari defended her doctoral dissertation at the UP Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies entitled  »Biocarbon-based waterborne functional coating for integrated adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of indoor volatile organic compounds« under the mentorship of izr. prof. dr. David DeVallance and co-mentorship of znan. sod. dr. Laetitie Marrot.
