Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute Celebrates 75 Years of Existence

The Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To mark this occasion, a formal event was held today at the Union Hotel in the heart of Ljubljana.

Numerous distinguished guests gathered at the event. Among them was the keynote speaker, assoc. prof. dr. Aleš Žnidarič, Director of ZAG, along with prof. José Torero from University College London and dr. Vanja Samec. The guest of honor was dr. Igor Papič, Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.

Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, and dr. Klavdija Kutnar, University of Primorska’s rector, attended the event. InnoRenew CoE and the University of Primorska have been successfully collaborating with ZAG for several years on various research projects and other activities. ZAG is also one of the founders of the InnoRenew CoE and was a key partner in the InnoRenew project, led by the University of Primorska.

In addition to the mentioned guests, many representatives from domestic and international companies, as well as research institutes, participated at the event.

Several awards were also presented. Among the award recipients were researcher Dr. Andrea Lucherini, who teaches at the University of Primorska, and received the Turnšek award, and Dr. Andraž Legat, who received the award for lifetime achievement. Dr. Legat is also a member of the InnoRenew CoE Executive Board.

On this significant anniversary, we sincerely congratulate ZAG and look forward to continuing our successful cooperation in the future.
