Dr. Anna Sandak, InnoRenew CoE Deputy director and Head of research department for materials, dr. René Herrera Díaz and Lei Han, InnoRenew CoE researchers, attended the 11th European Conference on Wood Modification (ECWM 11), held 15-16 April 2024, in Florence, Italy.

Lei Han presented about the bending performance of thermo-hydro-mechanically treated Scots pine at elevated temperature, dr. René Herrera Díaz spoke about preliminary evaluation of wood impregnated with oak bark-derived residuals, while dr. Anna Sandak presented the results from the screening test about modification of wood by fast Pyrolysis Bio-Oil.

This year the conference gathered 170 participants from 30 countries and provided a forum to learn about the latest developments in this rapidly evolving field, and to discuss with renowned experts and build networks.
