Dr. Michael Mrissa, InnoRenew CoE researcher, was successful in the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) call for proposals to co-fund scientific research cooperation between the Republic of Slovenia and the United States for 2022-2024.
Dr. Mrissa’s “Decentralized communities for building monitoring” project will connect researchers from InnoRenew CoE and Oregon State University.
Monitoring data from mass timber buildings in different parts of the world is currently possible due to low-cost sensors and mature data infrastructure. This data has huge potential, especially if used in a federated way. However, there are multiple challenges, and this project looks into some of them.
ARRS co-finances mutual visits between Slovenian and American researchers carrying out joint scientific research projects to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. This funding also increases Slovenian researcher mobility, adds to the number of excellent researcher visits from the United States to Slovenia and expands the number of Slovenian applications to European Union Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation and other international calls.
Congratulations also to colleagues from the University of Primorska, who successfully obtained ARRS funding for 12 projects.
