On Monday, 27 December 2021, Jernej Hudolin, Director General of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia (ZVKDS), visited InnoRenew CoE and the University of Primorska.
He first visited the new InnoRenew CoE building in Izola, which is a unique facility for research and innovation in the field of renewable materials and healthy living environments. It is also the largest wooden building in Slovenia, considering the achieved size of its wooden construction.
He then continued his visit to Koper’s Servite Monastery where renovation work of the roof has been ongoing since August. This renovation is financed by the Republic of Slovenia’s Ministry of Culture. The work will be completed as planned in January 2022, followed by other urgent tasks that are conditioning the quality renovation realization of this architectural and cultural pearl in Koper’s city center. Currently, archaeological research and other studies are being carried out, which will ensure the preparation of project documentation for further remediation.
ZVKDS is one of InnoRenew CoE’s founders.
