Dr Laetitia Marrot, InnoRenew CoE researcher, in collaboration with Percy Festus Alao, Heikko Kallakas, Triinu Poltimäe, Alar Just and Jaan Kers from the Tallinn University of Technology, recently published a scientific article, “Effect of Hemp Fiber Surface Treatment on the Moisture/Water Resistance and Reaction to Fire of Reinforced PLA Composites”, in Materials.

In this article, the researchers present investigation of surface pretreatment and modification effects with silane on moisture sorption, water resistance and reaction to fire for hemp fiber reinforced polylactic acid (PLA) composites.

Materials is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that publishes findings about materials science and engineering.
