Aleksandar Tošić, InnoRenew CoE assistant researcher, in collaboration with Dr Jernej Vičič from the University of Primorska Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, published a scientific article, “Use of Benford’s law on academic publishing networks”, in the Journal of Informetrics.

In the article, researchers “provide evidence that metrics such as number of papers per researcher conform to Benford’s distribution, while the number of authors per paper does not.” Additionally, they present some anomalies and reasons for their occurrence.
