Dr Rene Herrera Diaz, InnoRenew CoE researcher in the Wood Modification group, has successfully attained the NOMOREFIRE bilateral research project.

NOvel ModificatiOn tReatments to improvE wood resistance against FIRE – NOMOREFIRE – will be performed over the next two years in collaboration with the Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physico-Chemistry for Environment and Materials (IPREM) at the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) in France.

NOMOREFIRE aims to improve the resistance of wood against fire through innovative surface modification treatments that replace harmful elements with natural or renewable compounds with lower toxicity.
