The online edition of the Festival of Wood 2020 took place 8-12 October 2020. Organizers prepared many events, the Wood Tech Talks conference among them. During Wood Tech Talks, experts presented good examples for innovative uses of wood.

InnoRenew CoE’s Dr Iztok Šušteršič, Dr Črtomir Tavzes and Jaka Pečnik attended the conference and presented some of the institute’s newest research topics.

Dr Šušteršič spoke about rationalization processes for cross laminated timber. Dr Tavzes discussed opportunities for innovative use of densified wood, and Jaka Pečnik talked about carbonization of wood and other lignocellulosic raw materials as a way to create added value.

The Festival of Wood is organized every year in Kočevje (Slovenia) to inspire younger people about the forest-based sector and promote wood products.
