InnoRenew CoE continues its work with industrial partners through direct collaboration with Kronospan Trading SRL, a world leader in the production of wood-based boards located in Romania.

Kronospan is committed to assessing and addressing the environmental impact of its operations and manufacturing processes. Several studies have shown that emissions from materials used in the construction and furniture industries must be closely monitored and subsequently reduced in order to maintain human health and well-being.

Kronospan contracted InnoRenew CoE to perform a life cycle assessment for three of its manufacturing processes. InnoRenew CoE researchers analyzed Kronospan’s carbon footprint, finding it to be negative and not dangerous to the environment.
