Dr Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, is currently featured alongside ten other notable women scientists, researchers and innovators in the new #EUwomen4future campaign.
This prestigious campaign, announced by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, is of high importance as it draws attention to outstanding women working in research, innovation, education, culture and sport.
According to Commissioner Gabriel, #EUwomen4future highlights cutting-edge achievements that will form Europe in the future, showing that, at its core, Europe needs skilled and dedicated professional women to grow. The campaign’s exceptional women are in a unique position to influence and mentor other young women and girls that pursue opportunities to reach their goals.
Dr Kutnar has accomplished many things. In addition to leading InnoRenew CoE, she is also a full professor, Renewable Materials for Healthy Built Environments program coordinator and Sustainable Built Environments deputy coordinator at the University of Primorska. She sits on the executive board of InnovaWood and is current president of the Society of Wood Science and Technology’s executive board. In 2016, she was recognized with the “Prometheus of Science for Excellence in Communication” award for successful multi-level communication in wood science and sustainable development. In 2018, Dr Kutnar received the distinguished “Zois Certificate of Recognition” for important scientific achievements in the field of wood science.
