COST Action CA17107 European Network to connect research and innovation efforts on advanced Smart Textiles (CONTEXT) organized a training school, “Textiles in building and living & textiles in personal protection”, in Rethymno, Greece from 17-20 September 2019.

Dr Laetitia Marrot, researcher in the Renewable Materials Composites group at the InnoRenew CoE, attended the training as it was a great opportunity for networking and learning more about smart textiles. Dr Marrot attended several lectures where they discussed textile material trends in the building and living sectors as well as use of smart materials in architecture and design.

Participants also visited the Nano@HMU Group, a research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Hellenic Mediterranean University that is conducting research on solar cells, and the Stratakis Lab: Ultrafast Laser Micro and Nano Processing Laboratory.
