Dr Andreja Kutnar, director of the InnoRenew CoE and vice president of the Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST), travelled to Asheville, North Carolina (USA), where she joined the SWST board meeting.

SWST is an internationally recognized professional organization of wood scientists, engineers, marketing specialists and other professionals concerned with lignocellulosic materials. SWST is a member of Living Lab InnoRenew, and the InnoRenew CoE in a proud member of SWST as it provides a great opportunity to meet and network with wood scientists and technology professionals from around the world.

At the meeting, the SWST executive board discussed the future of the organization and finalized plans for the upcoming annual convention, which will take place 20-25 October 2019. The 62^nd SWST International Convention will be held at Tenaya Lodge, just outside the gate of Yosemite National Park, California (USA).  The theme of this year’s event is “Renewable Materials and the Wood-based BioEconomy”.
