Dr Ana Slavec, the consulting statistician at the InnoRenew CoE, attended the 8th Conference of Slovenian Consortia for International Scientific Literature titled Focus on Open science that took place in Ljubljana. The event addressed the topics of FAIR data and open access, citizen science, and management of a cultural change.
Dr Slavec was one of the speakers at the roundtable discussion where they spoke about the concept of open science in the always changing research environment. It is important that academic libraries follow and adapt based on the ongoing changes. During the discussion they also mentioned Plan S, an initiative of 11 national science funding agencies, the European Commission, and the European Research Council (ERC) for a more decisive implementation of open access by 2020
In addition to Dr Slavec at the roundtable, there were also Dr Paul Ayris (UCL Library Services), Colleen Campbell (Max Planck Digital Library), Dunja Legat (University of Maribor), Federica Rosetta (Elsevier), Massimiliano Carloni (Clarivate Analtics), and Dr Luka Šušteršič (Jožef Stefan Institute).
The discussion was facilitated by Miro Pušnik (Central Technological Library at the University of Ljubljana). The discussion was also recorded, and it can be watched on: https://youtu.be/ofVv04-VpPA.
