The transition to a green economy is an important business opportunity, and it is crucial for development of many innovations and new opportunities in the environmental, social, and economic fields. The conference GreenTech Forum Bled that was held on 12^th September 2018 for the first time, emphasizes the fact that the green economy can become the mission and business goal of all companies and organizations.

The conference was organized in the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum. Our Research Group Leader in sustainable building with renewable materials Dr Iztok Šušteršič presented our research institute and our projects related to the circular economy in the forestry and wood sector.

The green and circular economy is a long-term strategic direction of the Republic of Slovenia, and it is already supporting development in various areas. Participants at the conference pointed out the challenges of Slovenian companies in the transition and transformation process to the green economy, where all actors of the sustainable chain of businesses and organizations must be involved.
