On Wednesday, 18th July we had the official ceremony and opening of the moving part of the exhibition Charm of Wood 2018 in the Armerija at the University of Primorska.

The exhibition Charm of Wood and its accompanying events is organized for the 10th year. It makes a significant contribution to raising public awareness of the importance of wood and wood products. The InnoRenew CoE joined the organizers of the Charm of Wood – Association for the Protection of Wood of Slovenia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology – Wood Industry, Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia, BF – Wood Technology and the Wood Council, and in collaboration with the University of Primorska is hosting the exhibition in the main rectorate building, Armerija in Koper.

The official opening of the moving part of the exhibition the Charm of Wood brought more than 50 visitors to Koper. The director of the InnoRenew CoE, Dr Andreja Kutnar, welcomed all the visitors. Then the rector of the University of Primorska, Dr Dragan Marušič, expressed his satisfaction that the exhibition Charm of Wood stopped in Koper at the premises of the university. The main organizer of the exhibition Charm of Wood and the president of the Association for the Protection of Wood of Slovenia, Dr Franc Pohleven, shared his experiences from the beginning of the exhibition, the challenges that they faced during this ten years, and the opportunities for the future development of wood, wood products, and the Slovenian wood industry in general with the visitors. The official part of the opening ceremony ended with the words of the Director General of the Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Jože Prikeržnik.

After the official opening the visitors had the opportunity to admire the exhibition products. Moreover, they had a chance to speak with some representatives of the companies presenting at the exhibition. After that the networking event followed where the participants had an excellent opportunity to make new contacts.

The moving part of the central exhibition Charm Wood of 2018 can be visited in Koper until 3rd September.
