In May the members of the Slovenian Discrete and Applied Mathematics Society (SDAMS) organized the conference Non-commutative structures 2018: A workshop in honour of Jonathan Leech. In the framework of the conference there was also a COST Action QSPACE Roundtable Discussion: “Gender Issues and European Women in Mathematics”.

Dr Ana Slavec and Dr Václav Sebera attended and actively participated at the roundtable discussion. Dr Slavec presented the topic of women’s issues in statistics, and she suggested some possible solutions. Dr Sebera presented gender equality from myth to hard data.

The topic of gender equality in science is a very important research area at the InnoRenew CoE.
