The research group leader of the InnoRenew CoE Dr Iztok Šušteršič attended the International Mass Timber Conference that was held in Portland, Oregon U.S.A. between 20th and 22nd March 2018.

Iztok held a lecture on the topic of structurally optimized ribbed CLT (cross-laminated timber), which has the possibility to reduce timber consumption by up to 50 % compared to standard CLT yet keeps all its benefits. The lecture was attended by about 200 people and a high public interest was expressed after the lecture.

Dr Šušteršič met with several representatives of research institutions that indicated interest in our centre of excellence InnoRenew CoE. We also received an invitation for working on a new 100 story timber building design concept.
