Our researcher, Dr Kelly Peeters, went to Belgium in order to attend the Chemistry Conference for Young Scientists (Chemcys) in Blankenberge. This was the 14th edition, and it took place from 21 to 23 February 2018. The aim of the conference is to give young attendees the opportunity to present early results of their research. Topics are mostly focused on the typical research domains in chemistry.

Kelly presented her work with a poster »Using »green« chemicals for wood modification«. She also met with representatives from TNO, and they discussed possible future collaborations with our centre of excellence.

Moreover, Kelly visited prof. dr Joris Van Acker from the University of Ghent. He explained the projects that his research group is working, and he offered a tour of their laboratories and equipment that they are using.
