Kim Turk Mehes, MSc is the Innorenew CoE’s Living Lab manager and policy consultant. Kim graduated from University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences with a BA in Political Science – International Relations. In 2016 she obtained her Master of Science degree in International Economics at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics with her thesis entitled »Transnational collaboration in research and development projects: Implications for a small country’s business sector«. Kim also studied abroad – she finished her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and concluded a semester of graduate studies at Toulouse Business School.
Kim was employed at the Slovene Ministry for Education, Science and Sport for over 7 years, where she worked in the Science Department, actively shaping the European Research Area (ERA), especially through different bioeconomy related ERA-NET (e.g. WoodWisdom-Net, Sumforest & ForestValue) and CSA projects (e.g ERA Platform). She was also named as the Slovenian expert in the H2020 Societal Challenge 2 (Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy) Program Committee. As a vocal ambassador for including less active EU member and associated states in the ERA, she was also the national contact point for the H2020 program Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation. Kim also has prior experience working in academia, business, and the non-governmental sector.
