Dr. Jan Včelák is a researcher at InnoRenew CoE.
He finished his doctorate in 2007 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. Since then, he has worked on several research projects in companies and research institutions with a focus on sensors and electronic systems. Between 2007 and 2012, he was postdoctoral researcher and team leader in Tyndall NI, Ireland. In 2012, he was employed by the University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings CTU where he established and led the department for monitoring and intelligent control. He also invented several patents in the EU and United States.
In 2019, he was a visiting researcher at InnoRenew CoE. His work focused on sensor design and wireless sensor networks. His expertise is in electronic and sensor design as well as renewable energy use and systems for monitoring timber constructions.
